What's New at AuthorLoft — Music Pages That Play, Share and Promote

This month we made the biggest set of changes to AuthorLoft's music features since Music Lists launched in August. The goal was simple: make it easier for people to listen to your music, and easier for you to share it.

Your songs already live on YouTube, Spotify, Suno and other services. AuthorLoft gives them a home on your own website: one page per release, in your colors, under your name, linking out to wherever each track is hosted. Nothing is uploaded, so there's nothing to re-encode or store. Here's what that page can do now.

💿 Present your releases properly

• Release type. Mark each list as a Playlist, Album, EP or Single. The type shows at the top of the page, for example "Album · 10 tracks · 2026".

• Release date. Add one, and the year appears next to the release type.

• Tracklist layout. Albums, EPs and singles now show as a numbered tracklist. Playlists keep the artwork grid.

• "Listen on" buttons. Link to the full release on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube Music, SoundCloud and others, up to 8 per release.

▶️ A player that keeps playing

Play all starts at track one, and YouTube tracks move on to the next song by themselves when one ends. The player sits in the corner of the screen, or along the bottom on phones, with Previous and Next buttons, so visitors can keep scrolling your site while the music plays. Listeners can minimize it without stopping the song.

🔗 Share the whole release, or a single song

• Every music page has share buttons for Facebook, X, Threads, WhatsApp, Reddit, Email and Copy link. On phones, the Share button opens the phone's own share menu, which is the way to post to Instagram and TikTok.

• Every track has its own Share button. The link opens your page at that song, and when pasted into social media it shows that song's title and artwork.

• Music links now show a proper preview on Facebook, X and other sites, using your cover image or track artwork.

🧰 A share box in your dashboard

Open any music list in your dashboard and you'll see a Share box at the top. It includes:

• Your public link, with Copy and View live buttons

• One-click posting to Facebook, X, Threads and LinkedIn

• A separate link for each network (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube and your newsletter), ready to copy

• A suggested caption

• A QR code you can download for gig posters, merch tables or CD sleeves

✨ Let AI write the post (Standard and Premium)

Social Promote now writes posts about your music, not just your books. Choose a release, pick the platform, and choose from four new post types: New Music Release, Track Spotlight, Behind the Music, and Ask Listeners. Posts are written from your own release details, and they include a link to your music page. On Instagram and TikTok, the post says "link in bio" instead, since links aren't clickable there. You can also start straight from the Write a post with AI button in the Share box.

🎵 Also new for musicians

• A faster editor. Tracks show as compact rows with artwork. Drag them to reorder, and click one to edit it.

• Music Genre Palettes on the Free plan. If you've published music, you can now choose any Music Genre Palette under Appearance, whatever your plan.

• Music in the AuthorLoft Bookstore (Standard and Premium). List an album or playlist in the Music tab of the AuthorLoft Bookstore for extra discovery. Listeners click through to your own site.

• "Music Creator" on your About page. Your About page now shows it, with a count of your music, in place of "Author".

Already on AuthorLoft? Open Music in your dashboard, set a release type, add a "Listen on" link or two, and share your first song link. If you haven't set up music yet, you can import a YouTube playlist or paste a list of links to get started. Music Lists are included on every plan, including Free.
